Different Lens types

Single Vision Lens

Single Vision – A single vision lens has a consistent prescription power throughout the entire lens, providing a clear vision for a specific distance, either for near or far vision. It is commonly used by individuals who require correction for a single vision need, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Varifocal Lens

Varifocal/Progressive – A varifocal/progressive lens is a multifocal lens that seamlessly combines different prescription powers for near, intermediate, and far distances within a single lens. It allows wearers to transition smoothly between various distances, eliminating the need for multiple pairs of glasses. The main advantage is providing clear vision at all distances without visible lines or abrupt shifts in power.

Bifocal Lens

Bifocal – A bifocal lens is a type of multifocal lens that contains two distinct areas with different prescription powers. The upper portion corrects distance vision, while the lower portion is designed for near vision. Bifocal lenses are often prescribed for individuals who have both a need for distance vision correction and near vision correction, commonly seen in presbyopia. The visible line on the lens separates the two prescription powers.

Must-Have lens coatings on your lenses

Anti-glare coating

It reduces glare and reflections on the lens surface, improving visual clarity and reducing eye strain. It is particularly beneficial for those who work on computers, drive at night, or spend significant time in environments with bright lights.

Blue light blocking coating

It filters out harmful blue light emitted by digital screens, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. This coating helps reduce eye fatigue, improve sleep quality, and protect against potential long-term effects of blue light exposure.

Anti-scratch coating

Anti-scratch coating- Forms a protective layer on the lens surface, making it more resistant to scratches from daily wear and tear. This coating helps prolong the lifespan of the lenses, ensuring clearer vision and maintaining their aesthetic appeal.

UV protection coating

Blocks harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun, safeguarding the eyes from potential damage caused by long-term exposure to UV radiation. It helps reduce the risk of cataracts, macular degeneration, and other UV-related eye conditions, making it crucial for overall eye health and sun protection.
